      My use case is to improve network throug...

      My use case is to improve network throughput for an old Synology NAS, on an operating system that does not have 'device drivers' for 2.5 Gbps networking. Found a method, and tried several different brands of hardware network adapters. Found WAVLINK and Sabrent brand USB to 2.5 Gbps adapters could not sustain a connection for over 7-8 minutes. This Asus adapter works just fine for my case, involving several hours of sustained hi-speed use.
