      Best Consumer Grade Wireless Router on the Market Right Now

      Added this RT-AX86U to my existing RT-AX88U to create an AiMesh system. ASUS AiMesh is now on version 2.0 and it works much better than version 1. My AiMesh is configured with the RT-AX88U connecting to the cable modem and the RT-AX86U is a node using a wireless WiFi 6 backhaul. I know a wired backhaul would be better, but I am not able to run that cable. However, since my internet connection is only 200 down 10 up, I think the wireless backhaul is NOT being overloaded. I get the same speedtest benchmarks regardless if my laptop WiFi connection is to the RT-AX88U or to the RT-AX86U. IMHO the RT-AX86U is the best consumer grade wireless router available right now. For me, it's only weak point is that it only has four LAN ports, but an inexpensive switch would fix that. Also, the ...

      great router for the price!

      great wifi range speed. Have 1.2gps circuit at home, and can access the full speed via the 2.5g ethernet port. Asus-WRT firmware is great, and the merlin firmware that you can download makes this router even better! Several options, but even just using it as a basic wifi router, will deliver great results.

      Great Router Good Price

      Great ASUS WiFi6 router, great coverage, great performance. I have it installed as part of a 3-way mesh covering a 3 story house of 4K soft serving 35 devices 18 wired, 17 wireless. I get over 750 Mbps on my wireless devices (WiFi6) from my Gbit service from Comcast. Color me Ok with that.

      The Asus RT-AX86u is definitely the best router I've owned so far, it is Wi-Fi 6 so ready for the future and fast gamer fast I'm just barely touching the surface on the life time security and all the other features I would definitely recommend the ASUS RT-AX86U this Router can keep up with the Big Boys

      Most definitely a smart purchase.

      The capabilities of this router are definitely up to snuff. Multitudinous reviews have said their acclaims for this router, and this is no different, even if used. The price to value ratio of this router cannot be understated. Not once have I had a single problem with this router. Even with heavy gaming and family internet usage across 5 members. Not once have I had a single problem in the past month I've owned it, no spikes or downs. This is an upgrade all around over my 10 year old Nighthawk AC1750, which in itself was also a very good router for the price. If you're looking for a router upgrade, this is by far the best one for performance to price ratios.
