    Nikon 18-70 Af-s dx ED

This lens is one of the older Nikon zoom lenses and I got it recently as a replacement of an other zoom by Nikon I had used before. The lense has a fast autofocus and is very sharp. It is well made and you feel that when you attach it to your camera: the Lense is quite heavy. It takes 67mm filters and has a plastic lense hood, which is not the best quality but does the job. A nice feature is, that you can attach the hood backwards, which makes it less bulky for carrying. Now the most important: the picture quality is very good and in my opinion better than the 18-135mm, especially if you compare prices. I like this lens a lot and it is my standard travel lense.

  • Top critical review

    NOT what I paid for!!

Normally I tend to write positive reviews and make a good mark for companies so they can get more of a customer base. However, today I'm writing to state that what I purchased does not match the photo. DOES not match the items place holder image! And most certainly is not a Nikon brand!

  • Greatly supplements the range of focal lengths for your DSLR

Great lens that extends the range of your "normal" focal lengths. With this lens you can carry a lighter load: your camera body, this 18-70mm and a 70-300mm lens and you effectively cover all your range of focal lengths. You can always add one of the wide angle 10-20mm wide angle lenses if you shoot landscapes or real estate.

  • GREAT LENS

Not a fast aperture lens but sharp and fast focusing. You pay for more glass so it's a good bargain for a Nikkor zoom. Good focal length range. You don't need a 50. Or wide angle. Or portrait. It's every lens. Just not fast enough for low light.

  • Good value

Pretty decent lens. Works as expected. Couldn't afford an 85mm prime but wanted a decent lens for portraits. By moving a few feet closer to my subjects and modifying the lighting this lens does a nice job for about 1/5 the cost of an 85mm. A bit slower than an 85mm when shooting wide open, but this will do for now. This lens is compatible with each of my three bodies (D60, D80, and D7100) with similar results.
