      I feel like I got a fair deal for an awesome show

      Great series. I've wanted a copy of the Tudors for a bit. The price was reasonable compared to some of the other more ridiculous pricing for the set. One episode had a bit of a hang-up with a scratch or something but after a few tries I was able to forward past it. Overall, happy with the purchase.

      Ruthless & Bloodthirsty Tyrant King

      This DVD series should have been rated R-there was so much nudity and sexual situations that I thought was rather shocking & unnecessary. King Henry the 8th was a tyrant leader who was lustful and an egomaniac. He was also brutal with wives & his people who were in his leadership circle. He mandated the massacre of hundreds of village people in Ireland who did not want to give up being Catholic in their faith. I would think him as bad as Hitler in England & no one could stop him. There were times it was very hard to watch-and I will never think of this ruler in the same way again. After I finished watching this series I threw it out.

      The set is ok ...but...

      Was happy to get my set and started watching. To my disappointment when I tried to get subtitles because of hard of hearing I was given the option. But when trying to access I was told to check my tv or DVD settings. To no avail could I find them. So now I have to listen carefully and at an elevated volume. Other than that the series is good

      An excellent historical drama series!

      We just finished watching this series and are planning to watch it again. The storyline, while not entirely accurate by historical standards, captures your imagination and makes you eagerly anticipate the next episode. The setting is beautiful and the costumes are probably the best ever produced for a television series. The actors become the characters and you never get the sense of "watching a play" as happens sometimes in period pieces. There is gore, to be sure, but it fits into the period and is not gratuitous. I wish Showtime would produce another series featuring "Bloody Mary" and Queen Elizabeth I.
