I needed a thermometer that would meet the need for meats and candy, etc. This is an affordable and good option. I've used it several times over the holiday with good success. I especially like that it has the piece to fasten it to a sauce pan. The only negative is that the buttons are super tiny. Even my tiny fingers can't easily press the on/off button without pressing one next to it. I use my finger nail and warned my husband that he will need to find something like a pen or stylus to use.I needed a thermometer that would meet the need for meats and candy, etc. This is an affordable and good option. Got this for my wife when she makes candy. Used it for the first time while baking chicken. I'v never liked white meat, due to being dried. After using this to keep temp at correct level the white meat was moist and for the very first time I can say, " really enjoyed it." Hide this product when you get it
If you value your new thermometer, Hide it from your wife. My wife stuck it in the pot roast and baked it not thinking it was plastic, not thinking it had a battery in it. It was great while I had it as a candy thermometer. Please people, don't let other people use it.
