The cord gets VERY HOT during use. My 1500 watt space heaters do not do this: the very short 32 inch cord on this water heater is the cheapest, smallest gauge wire they can possibly use. Soak the heater in vinegar after each use or the mineral buildup will destroy it in a short time. DO NOT TOUCH the bathtub or water while heater is on - is a shock risk if heater fails.
