    Unclassified version...of the truth

Still picking through the book...a lot of details to absorb. I was on active duty with the U.S. Army/Guard and remember that day as if it was yesterday. It changed the way I look at the Middle East, and the 19 Arabs from Saudi Arabia. I served in the first Gulf War, and was surrounded by the Saudi military, and I recalled their attitude towards Americans who were to participate in 1990/91 Desert Shield/Storm Operations. The Saudi's were ungrateful, anti-christian, anti-jewish bunch of cowards... I'll have to get back to you after I review the rest of the book!

  • Reveals the sad condition our intelligence & preparedness was in.

When this book first came out I didn't believe in spending $10 for a report that was paid for by the American tax payer to begin with. I finally found it online at a suitable price with free shipping. I was surprised to find that rather than being a dry missive that would put you to sleep, it appears to have actually been arranged into a completely readable narrative by a competent wordsmith. That being said, the only high point in this entire book is the section detailing the heroic acts by various 1st responders, officials and regular human beings. The rest of the book reads like a "To-Do List" of what NOT to do in any emergency situation, let alone one on the scale of 9/11. If you are looking for a report on how the US Govt did things right, this is not the right book for ...

  • Looks like a book, well referenced but is a mediocre obfuscation of the facts

I have read over fifty books, hundreds of articles and watched a few too many videos on this subject which made reading this book a bit of a trudge. I tried to read it with an open mind. It was nice of the commission to share with us their research into the Terrorists. But as I read I found myself becoming enraged and crossing out words and changing them to Patsies, Scapegoats and Useful Idiots. The story just does not add up what they wrote does not equate to what we saw. You should read this book. I hope it enrages you. The purpose of this book was to quiet the masses, I think it missed the mark. We need to find out how the towers were disintegrated. The planes hitting the towers was a sucker punch, They were covering up something much more diabolical. We have to get to the root ...

  • The 9/11 Commission Report Review

This book is a very informational book on the event of 9/11. I have not finished reading the entire book yet, but I am drawn into it as it is a very detailed report of how the 9/11 attack took place and why. Also, it explains how the terroristic attack slipped through our nation's defense system, showing us our faults as a nation. I first had to buy the book for my Criminal Justice Intelligence class, in which our professor listed the 9/11 Commission Report as a mandatory class requirement. I'm glad he did, as this book is a straight forward approach, giving you a mental image and an inside approach of how and why 9/11 took place. I would highly recommend this book, not only for Criminal Justice majors, but to all other people as well, as it show's you that a nation's defense is not really ...
