  • Delightful Childen's Book

This is a story takes place in Ireland and is about Jamie, whom his parents say is too young to be in the St Patrick's Day parade. So he steals his father's sash, and a flute very early in the morning and with the family dog, makes his way through the town and up the hill to where the festivities are to be held and back down. He does it just to prove he can. When the rest of the family awakens, Jamie has returned and is fast asleep in a rocking chair. Children of all ages like this book. I find that kinders and first graders seem to enjoy this book the most because they are close to the age of Jamie in the book. I try to read this to at least one classroom every year. Mikie1950
