      Awesome Drive

      This drive is just what I needed for my ever growing video and audio collection. I bought it specifically to use as NAS with a Linksys WRT1900ACS running DD-WRT. So far this has been a winning combination. The drive is fast, quiet, and has enough space to ensure that it'll be quite a while before I need size increase.

      Warranty period is less than a year! Bad

      It used to be hard disk drives had crazy long warranties, like 5 years. Nowadays, like with this drive, I find out only after I receive it the warranty period is only a matter of months. Not even 1 year! That is terrible. They should be ashamed. Also the drive looks about half as thin as it actually is. That is false advertising. Very misleading. So I say thumbs down. You should be able to find a better drive. In fact, I recently saw the 4TB version of this for the same price!

      Working great with Channel Master DVR+

      I'm using this drive with a Channel Master DVR+. Wasn't sure there would be enough USB power to run it, but so far it's working great. Quieter than the Seagate desktop drive that I have on my other DVR+. No doubt uses less power, which is great because I'm using it on solar power. The whole rig is only using about 12 watts.
