  • Excellent detective story turned into a movie

I love Walter Mosley's Easy Rawlins series!! This is excellent fiction similar to film noir that presents a different perspective than the average American detective: the main character is a black man in L.A. in 1953 who works as a janitor. Very well written. I highly recommend! The books in chronological order are: Devil in a Blue Dress (1990) A Red Death (1991) White Butterfly (1992) Black Betty (1994) A Little Yellow Dog (1995) Gone Fishin' (1996) Bad Boy Brawly Brown (2000) Six Easy Pieces (2003) Little Scarlet (2004) Cinnamon Kiss (2005) Blonde Faith (2007) Little Green (2013) Rose Gold (2014) Charcoal Joe (2016)

  • Great Book!

I bought it for one of my Hist classes. It is a great book! I'm not much of a reader, i only read for school purposes, but this book was so good and easy to read that i read it in 2 days. It's one of those books you just cant put down!

  • Walter Mosley

Walter Mosley's book was purchased for use inside an adult classroom. His story is an engaging one that kept the interest of my students. Some passages are on the explicit side, so I'd suggest preparing your class and the contents accordingly. I love Mosley's story-telling ability, and am thankful for a level-appropriate, high-interest piece of writing.
