About this product

Product Information

Sara Crewe seemed just like a real princess... When Sara Crewe arrives at Miss Minchin's London boarding school, she seems just like a real little princess. She wears beautiful clothes, has gracious manners, and tells the most wonderful stories. Then one day, Sara suddenly becomes penniless. Now she must wear rags, sleep in the school's dreary attic, and work for her living. Sara is all alone, but keeps telling herself that she can still be a princess inside, if only she tries hard enough.

  • Childhood charm

An amazing story made perfect with the illustrations of Tasha Tudor. I highly recommend it for little girls aged 10 to 13. I would best describe this as an American Girl story long before there were American Girl stories...except she lived in London. So a British American Girl Style story....Oh never mind. Just enjoy!!

  • A little Princess

This story is one of my favorites from when I was a little girl. I remember watching this version on Public Television years ago. This version is my favorite of the several that have been made of this story over the years. I like Amelia Shankley who plays Sara better than the other actresses that have had this role. The production is exceptional, I love the costumes and the locations that they used. The one thing that I have a problem with is the fact that they split it up into episodes. The story just gets on track and then the episode ends and you need to skip ahead. It's about as annoying as commercials. But other than that I really liked this DVD.

  • Beautiful book!

Anything illustrated by Tasha Tudor is magical✨ And finding this classic with her artwork was a special treat!!

  • A Look Back

A Little Princess was chosen because of its illustrator, Tasha Tudor, as well as my love for this classic story. Buying it on eBay gives me a much more reasonable cost than an antique bookseller. Therein lies the joy of finding old books on eBay.....the surprise, the bargain, the unlimited possibilities. This book will be a gift. Gift buying constitutes much of my eBay activity. What freedom comes with browsing for the unexpected! Books, particularly, are my personal treasure hunt on eBay.
