    Good children's book

Good children's book, but I bought to match the Spanish edition I had. Unfortunately, there must be multiple renditions of this book by the same author in print. I was using the book for Speech class and the pages were not identical in characters or rhymes.

  • Great toddler book.

This is one of my 2 year old's favorite books. It has helped him learn his colors and animals. I've also added their sounds so he could learn those as well.

  • Simple, Amusing, Delightful for the young child. GREAT!

I was first introduced to this book way back in the 70's when I was in 1st grade! I would take it home frequently to read. I loved the book so much. I was fascinated by the pictures and the simple but amusing story line. Somewhere along the line we must have gotten a copy of the book (school book sale maybe) because some years later, I remember reading the book to my little sister too! We both enjoyed it. The use of repetition is helpful to a young child with little reading experience. (The Dick and Jane books were based on repetition.) The book also teaches the colors. Each animal is of a ...

  • Brown Bear, Brown Bear

During the 1970's while working as an elementary school teacher, I spent a summer studying under guidance of Bill Martin, Author of Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Over the years, I have given this books to many parents of 2 or 3 year olds. Within weeks of the parents reading this very catchy story, the 2 year old or 3 year old takes the book out of the parents hands and starts reading the book themselves. Actually, they are not reading, but they have memorized the story and with picture help, and they "read" the book. This gives them the confidence to start learning the actual words and soon take on other books. For many children, Brown Bear, Brown Bear will forever be "the first book I read". I have heard from parents years later that say that even when their children are seven, ...
