About this product

Product Information

A stunning, heart-pounding, journey into the lost world of the Pharaohs. Wilbur Smith has earned international acclaim for his bestselling RiverGod, The Seventh Scroll, and Warlock. Now, the unrivalled master of adventure returns with the eagerly awaited sequel to his thrilling Egyptian series with his most fantastic story yet.The Quest continues the story of the Warlock, Taita, wise in the lore of the gods and a master of magic and the supernatural. Egypt has been struck by a series of terrible plagues, killing its crops and crippling its people. Then the ultimate disaster befalls the kingdom. The Nile fails. The waters that nourish and sustain the land dry up. Something catastrophic is taking place in the distant and totally unexplored depths of Africa, from where the mighty river springs. In desperation the Pharaoh sends Taita, the only man who might be able to find his way through the hazardous territory to the source of the Nile and discover the cause of all their woes. But not even Taita can have any idea of what a terrible enemy waits in ambush in those dark lands at the end of their world. No other author can conjure up the violence and mystery of Ancient Egypt like Wilbur Smith. The Questmarks his stirring return to the acclaimed series and proves once again why fans such as Stephen King praise him as the world's "best historical novelist."

  • The Quest

I've been an avid reader of Wilbur Smith for over 25 years. I love his writing style (although his discription of gore is very graffic) all of his prose is very detailed and expressive. His novels are all very well researched and I've learned allot about Egypt and Africa. His story lines are well put together and all of his books keep you bound to them until you've finished the book. An all around great read. This book was no exception!

  • The Quest by Wilbur Smith

I bought this book because I am a huge Fan of Wilbur Smith and have a complete collection of all the books he has written. And as usual it was great! Great suspense, full of surprises with an incredible ending. I couldn't put it down!

  • The Quest

I bought this book because it was the third book in the Eqyptian series. While the story moves, some of the content (opening of the third eye, etc.) was a change of direction by author Smith in that he tends to be oriented toward historical. Of the three books I enjoyed this one the least. The ending of this book appeared to be a vehicle for a continuation of the series. Readable but not gripping.

  • The Quest

This is a continuing adventure in the life of Tata (the wizard) in Egypt. The Quest is about Tata (appointed by the Pharaoh) to find out why the Nile has stopped and famine is on the country. Is this adventure he will battle the most powerful of Wizards (Eos).

  • The Quest

Wilbur Smith is by far my favorite author. Always great! I recommend starting with his first book and just read the whole series. All Smith books are in some sequence.
