Work great for EZ-RJ45
This particular crimper has the extended blade guide which prevents the blade from shifting away for the connector when crimping. We have other units that look just like this AND the blade guide is not present. Hard to explain, but if you look very closely at the blade, there is the piece mounted to the frame that holds the two sides together. The blade slides up through this guide so the blade stays flat through cutting. I think newer versions of this, with the same part number do not have this ever so minute extension, so the blade goes away from the connector. This leaves a finished connector with wires sticking out of the end (NOT a flush cut!) and prevents the connector from going all the way into the female and will fall out of the socket at some point.... leaves conductors poking ... First one worked great, second one, not so much
We purchase 2 of these. The first one I bought works great. It was great quality. We needed another one. The second one bought doesn't push the pins in all the way most times. We've made sure the connector was in correctly. Still the same thing, had to return it.
