22-80 auto focus lens for pentax
looks almost brand new. tested and works fine. shipping took a couple of days linger than expected in transit. purchased to replace broken one. it has been a very useful lens

As a less expensive lens, it does what I want and I’m happy.
My Daughter works for a local newspaper. Often she has to cover sport games and when call upon, help her with photography. The biggest problem is that I don’t want to jeopardize my expensive lenses for newspaper quality photos. For the price of an older SMC Pentax 28-80-FA f:3.5-5.6 lens, I didn’t have to worry about “something” messing it up and costing me a fortune to fix. After several newspaper publication, I found the older Pentax lens and my newer lenses had similar results in the newspaper. Now days I’m not afraid to keep the “28-80” lens as a "go-to". It even has macro abilities which enable me to get a little creative. One of the only things I don’t care for is the plastic body and probably the parts inside of it. I’m able to deal with the slight weight increase ... My Daughter works for a local newspaper. Often she has to cover sport games and when call upon, help her with photography. It even has macro abilities which enable me to get a little creative. One of the only things I don’t care for is the plastic body and probably the parts inside of it. I’m able to deal with the slight weight increase of a metal lens and I love the long life metal adds. Unfortunately without paying a premium price, many lenses and cameras today are plastic. Here’s something I never heard of it before. On most of my older lenses including the 28-80 lens, I’m finding that by using a quality modern filter it seems to make the photos look somewhat “crisper”. An older filter doesn’t seem to do this. As a less expensive lens, it does what I want and I’m happy. (A modern filter will likely cost more.) For general photography, I highly recommend the Pentax 28-80mm.

Pentax SMCP-FA 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens on Digital Camera
If you own a Pentax Digital SLR (DSLR) then it may have come with the Pentax SMC DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens. This is a great lens so that you can take indoor and close quarter photos since it is equivalent to a 35mm 27-82mm lens. The Pentax SMC DA 55-300mm f/3.5-5.6 lens is a great choice for a second lens because it gives you seamless coverage (with DA 18-55mm lens) from 18mm to 300mm. However, when I shoot, I normally work in the short telephoto range. I like the compression and working distance this focal range gives me. So when I use the two Pentax DA kit lenses, they cross in the short telephoto range at 55mm. While I'm shooting, I find myself always changing lenses and forth to get the right shot. Solution ... Without a doubt, this lens is your best dollar for dollar value.
I wanted another auto-focus for my Pentax ZX-7 and ZX-30 Pentax cameras. I couldn't ask for a better lens for the price than this one. The sharpness, color balance and ease of use is money well spent. Interestingly enough, ZX-30 along with this lens seem to work better using Kodak ISO 400 speed film. Great lens for the money
I like this lens as a semi professional wild life photographer because I can go through the woods and branches and just all over the place and not have to carry 3 or 4 lenses with me because this on does pretty much close ups and a long range shot and actually can't believe some of the shots that I have shot with this lens and camera K100D Great set up for those who want really nice shots
