  • The best point-and-shoot digital camera?

    - Why did I buy it? My friend had bought one and let me inspect it. It felt robust and the overall build quality seemed good. I realized my SLR film camera was going to be impractical in future, unless I was processing the film myself. In addition, the Fuji X10's smaller size seemed desirable compared to the SLR camera. The zoom lens has good specs with its f:2.0 @ 28mm and I managed to get a few good test pictures on auto setting just by pointing and shooting even when the light was poor. - What I like most about it: The aspherical zoom lens, which in my opinion, is really great and covers the most common motives. Also the macro is fantastic on the X10 where one is able to get as close as one half of an inch of the subject. The built in flash, which is handy for "fill ...

  • Fuji X10: The smartest Super-model on the planet?

I read all the reviews of course before I bought it. It has lived up to expectations too. Has a bit of a learning curve (which I am still on) and as I bought it used some parameters had been set up already. Took me a while to realise I was shooting RAW and converting in-camera. Once I changed the setting everything started to fall into place. Amazing construction, very tactile and packed with useful features and performance. Bought a half-leather case from rokkor999 on ebay and it completes the retro look. Looks like you dropped a grand on it. Picture quality is incredible... Nothing negative to say. Battery life isn't amazing but spares are small and cheap and I got 2 with my purchase. Manual zoom of the lens of course - not motorised/stepped but this just improves the ...

  • This is an impressive camera, that takes very good pictures.

I bought this camera firstly on the quality of my old fuji s5000 pictures, and secondly on the reviews. I have had the camera for a couple of weeks and I am very impressed with it. All the photo's I have taken using the EXR, aperture, manual, panoramic and macro settings have been everything I had hoped for (sharp, good exposure and strong colours) but what has stood out is the super macro setting, it is pin sharp down to the hairs on insects legs with a good depth of field. Focus in macro did not pick the subject every time, and the manual focus took a lot of wheel turning but was very accurate. I would buy this camera again.

  • Excellent camera, beautiful design, wish the lens is a more popular size.

I have been a mid price Leica user all my life, recently sold my d lux4 and bought a Fuji x10 for a change, after reading so much good report about this camera. Well, everything is to my expectation, the only thing I could wish that they could provide is a better hand grip , or thumb rest, then the handling would be much improved

  • High quality, superb results and very handy.

I bought this camera after reading other peoples reviews. I have many other cameras, including the Fuji FX100 (which I love) My Canon G1X is very good, but the view finder is poor. The FX10 scores here. I tend to use the FX10 more than any other camera and have it with me all the time. There have been half a dozen duff shots, but at the inquest, these have all been my fault. Super overall quality and results. I will buy the FX20 in a couple of years, for the better view finder, and keep the FX10 in my office drawer for making up catalogues etc. I have not used my Canon EOS5D for months, but the Fuji has had over 4000 shots blown up over the last 4 months. Very, very happy with it.
