About this product

Product Information

Luxor 3 continues MumboJumbo's Egyptian-themed, sphere-smashing series with seven game modes, branching paths, and over 150 levels of play. As in previous titles, players slide a winged "shooter" across the bottom of the screen while launching colored spheres to create matches of three or more. The goal in each level is to remove a set number of spheres before a scarab pushes them into a pyramid at the opposite end of the screen. Since the spheres roll through twisting chutes, players must time their shots to hit specific colors or to set up score-boosting chain reactions. Luxor 3 includes achievements to unlock as well as an assortment of power-up upgrades, shooters, and sphere sets to purchase with Ankh coins collected throughout each level.

    Fun game to past the time with

    Presentation Several game modes, achievements, stat tracking, and well-implemented pointer controls. Graphics Pretty flashy for a casual puzzle game. Special effects pop all over the place. Sound Orchestral tunes that fit the Egyptian theme. Gameplay It's a Zuma clone, but a quality one. There is some strategy involved, and the Puzzle mode provides a nice change of pace. Lasting Appeal 150+ levels and 70 ranks to achieve. Maybe could have used a multiplayer mode, though.

    More Fun From Luxor

    This is the latest installment in the Luxor game series and it delivers a good time. Luxor made the jump from computer game to the Wii a couple of years ago, roughly, and this latest version has been updated in the form of fancier graphics and common Wii bells and whistles. Like the Carnival Games series, this game has a store where you buy fancier game pieces or enhancements, which is new to luxor but very common to other puzzle games. The basic game play is the same as always: shoot balls at the chains of balls that are making their way towards you, making them disappear as you make groups of three or more like colors. It's a simple concept but is very easy to play for hours. I recommend any of the Luxor games and this newest incarnation for the wii doesn't disappoint.
