About this product

Product Information

Developed for simultaneous release on both PC and PS2, in both Japan and North America, this first expansion pack for the persistent-world RPG Final Fantasy XI adds new weapons, armor, and in-game items, as well as two large new areas to explore. Characters who have reached level 20 may consider traveling to the Tavnazian Archipelago, a group of war-torn islands where once there was a populous peninsula. No too long ago, the nation of Tavnazia enjoyed the riches of trade, but was destroyed by marauding beastmen, who still live among its ruins. The expansion's other new area, Movalpolos, is a subterranean city populated by an unusually stable community of goblins known as Moblins. Their reputed skills as smiths and alchemists suggest that Movapolous will pose many dangers, but also valuable rewards to those who can endure them.

  • Final Fantasy XI with more and more even power!

Final Fantasy has gone online with the release of Final Fantasy XI for Windows, and there is no turning back. With only marginal success in Japan, many RPGamers have watched news and media for this game with a detached interest. News about people becoming addicted to EverQuest adds to the apprehension of starting an online journey. Final Fantasy XI is not for everyone, but it does show promise in pulling a hardcore console RPGamer like myself into the online world. With the release of this expansion PlayStation 2 version, even more people are going to want to explore an online game for the first time. Was this good or bad for Vana'diel?... We just have to see the excellent and great impact this game caused, and then we have our answer.

  • Final Fantasy XI : Chains of Promathia

Chains of Promathia is one of the most difficult and frustrating yet equally rewarding expansions packs I've ever encountered. The sheer difficulty of this disc is enough to make you slam your controller against a wall, or worse...the television maybe. Completing the average Promathia mission usually takes days/weeks of planning and co-ordination, excessive gil spending and several tries in order to achieve success. Needless to say, I haven't yet met anyone who has completed all the "promies". These individuals enjoy "uber" status in game as having conquered the most challenging mission set that Vanadiel has ever seen. The progression of the Chains of Promathia storyline is also worth every bit of effort. The storyline that unfolds mission by mission is captivating and certainly counts as ...

  • Final Fantasy XI: Chains of Promathia (PS2/PC)

Excellent quality MMORPG. Square Enix is always updating the game to keep people enticed. They are adding new items and quests constantly. It is very good even for end game characters. Has a huge re-playability. Biggest improvement Square Enix has done is the removal of RMT (Real Money Traders). They are not all gone, but SE had made it much more difficult for RMT's to do anything, and have on many occasions removed the RMT accounts resulting in the removal of billions of game money.

  • Final Fantasy XI: Chains of Promathia

This is great like all the Final Fantasy games. You decide as you go through the game. It is too bad that they don't make this for GBA (yes I like the small ones too). I just started playing this game so am still kinda finding my way around it. I bought this game because my husband and I both like this series of games.
