Comfort, Style, and Sound Quality. A+
I own many different headphones on both ends of the spectrum, studio quality to low-cost leisurewear. I do a lot of research and comparison before I purchase. These headphones are my favorite pair yet! The Urbanite XL is most close in comparison to my Sony MDR-XB950BT Extra Bass headphones regarding price range and Extra bass, which is what they are made for. I like the Sony's for the most part, but the Urbanite sound quality comparison blows the Sony's out of the water. There is definitively extra bass on both of these headphones than most others, but the Urbanite's set themselves apart by balancing the mid and hi frequency's perfectly with the emphasized bass. Where the Sony's get muffled when you enhance the extra bass feature, the Urbanite's stay clear and crisp, but still punch. ... Overall, the Urbanite's have a pleasurable, well balanced, tight bass response. The ear cups fit comfortably over my ears, and the material is soft and smooth. It does not stick to the face after longer time periods of wear, like the rubber cups on the Sony's (and many others) seem to. I do not get fatigued at all when I wear the Urbanites. The elegance of the slide adjustments for the ear cups and the button-free tap/touch system are just delightful. They stay in place nicely and have a very sturdy feel. The tap system is very responsive, but maybe a little too much as you can occasionally pause them if you touch the ear cups often while you wear them. It has not been a problem for me. The headphones have a sleek, stylish design. For those people looking for something that rivals Beats in the visual aesthetic category, but doesn't conform to the mainstream brand, these Sennheiser Urbanites are for you. I bought them used for $120, but would happily pay the $200 retail (or more) for a brand new pair.

There are two versions of this headphone. One comes with an android remote and one with an IOS remote. Both can be used on any device with a 3.5mm jack but the remote obviously will not work right unless its paired with the right device. These headphones have a detachable cable and the headphone is compatible with the Sennheiser Momentum cable as well so if you want longer cables or a different cable, the aftermarket should easily provide that. These are one of the few closed back headphones with a microfibre/suede feeling earpads instead of the sweaty pleather/leather you usually find. Build quality is also excellent with metal hinges and solid high quality plastics. These probably have the same 18 Ohm driver as the Sennheiser Momentum and actually sound vaguely similar. The urbanite has more mid-bass than the momentum but less sub bass. I like the momentum better than these. Contrary to marketing, these are not muddy bass head cans but reasonably articulate. Treble is articulate and mid range is good for a closed back can. Bass is good (slightly more elevated than momentum I suspect) but not in V-Moda M-100/Ultrasone Pro900 territory.

Great sound but too big
I been using sennheiser for more then 10 years. I want to upgrade since my old sennheiser is used by my wife. Urbanite xl has a great and rich sound, no doubt about it. It is also very comfortable. However, it is not properly for in my head because it is too big. And the slider is somehow loose. I cannot use it while moving. But for me, sound is matter most!

Sennheiser did it again!
Great product and they stopped making them. It’s Bluetooth v4.0, so I connect it to an older Dell Windows Tablet and an Apple iPod 7. It does VoIP (Skype and Ooma) perfectly as well as music. It has accented bass, although not as heavy as a pair of older Beats.

Deep, rich sound
Got a set of these for one of my kids a year or so ago. They have such fat, beautiful sound I would steal them on a regular basis. So i bought my own pair. They sound better than the many sets of Beats we've had over the years and for much less money. Great for airplanes too. They block out surrounding noise totally. Best cans I've ever used.
