    Hissy Fit -- Very Entertaining Read!

    Hissy Fit is by Mary Kay Andrews, a former journalist for the Atlanta Journal and Constitution who found her true love -- writing fiction! Hissy Fit is a very entertaining read about a woman, Keely Murdock, who is in her early 30's and discovers her fiancee cheating on her DURING her rehearsal dinner. Hence the hissy fit! It just so happens that the family of the groom-to-be is very influential and tries to run Keely's small but successful decorating firm out of business as a sort of retaliation for calling off the wedding. The story follows Keely as she tries to keep her business afloat by agreeing to help with renovating and decorating an old Greek Revival mansion that has seen much better days.     Good Chic Lit! AUDIO Abridged

    THE BOOK IS NARRATED BY ISABEL KEATING Abridged Keeley Murdock is enjoying her wedding rehearsal dinner. What she didn't plan on was catching her fiancee with her maid of honor! She throws a "hissy fit" then seeks comfort with her gay friend, Austin. At her interior design company, she meets a new client, Will Mahoney. Unfortunately, Will is in love with someone else. Keeley still takes on the job of redecorating his plantation home. She is hoping against hope that maybe she will find love again. The story is a light cozy read...chic lit. Finding love is not always easy and forgiving even harder.

    Pure Escapism!!

    I love books written by Mary Kay Andrews because they are so true-to-life in the southeastern US. I feel I know some of these characters and locations personally. The experiences of her characters are similar to ones we all have encountered but HER characters always manage to get into over-the-top predicaments, and humor always winds its way into her stories, as well. I can't put her books down, once I start reading. I read "Savannah Breeze" first, then "Hissy Fit". Just completed reading "Little Bitty Lies". I'm addicted!! Of course, these books are not for everyone, but if you want an easy-read to catapult away from the daily grind......this is the perfect dose of escapism.

    Love, Mystery, High Design - The Perfect combination!

    What a wonderful story! I don't know if I loved it so much because I'm a Southern-Designing Woman myself, or if it was just the mix of mystery, love and laughter. The main character, Keely Murdock, is a wonderful and witty interior designer in picturesque Madison, Georgia. The story will thrill you as far as her search for the perfect antiques needed to restore a beautiful plantation home, but the search for her missing mother, and growing relationship with handsome Will Mahoney is a wild ride in itself. Now moms, don't listen to this with the kids in the car as they may hear some words that their teachers won't be very impressed with, but in general, the story is not offensive or raunchy, but definitely for 'big girls' only.     Hissy Fit by Mary Kay Andrews (2004)

    I thought it was a very funny story. Great southern accents. It was recommended to me by a friend. I had never read anything of Mary Kay Andrews, but now I would because I really enjoyed this one.
