An excellent book to pass down to children
I was skeptical at first of how well I would like this book, but it is so in depth and comprehensive on the "science" of black hair that I wish this came in hard back. I know I'll be keeping this book to not only aid myself but my clients (cosmetologist in the making). The detailed product recommendations and regimen builder that corrects generations of improper hair-care for black hair compels me to believe this is a staple for anyone confused as to why they reach as the book addresses in detail the "shoulder length plateau" despite the recent popular movement to ditch relaxers. It addresses why we need to comprehensively evaluate our regimens. It even includes a special section that made my head practically implode on why our fondest memories of sitting between our matriarchs legs ... I was skeptical at first of how well I would like this book, but it is so in depth and comprehensive on the "science" of black hair that I wish this came in hard back. I know I'll be keeping this book to not only aid myself but my clients (cosmetologist in the making). The detailed product recommendations and regimen builder that corrects generations of improper hair-care for black hair compels me to believe this is a staple for anyone confused as to why they reach as the book addresses in detail the "shoulder length plateau" despite the recent popular movement to ditch relaxers. It addresses why we need to comprehensively evaluate our regimens. By introducing this point first the book allows you to leave it take a deep breath and plant the seed of thought along the lines of "What else have I been following that is not right for my hair" With this opening you can begin to see the real science behind your hair and begin to understand what it needs. Brilliantly organized and succinctly written I beg you if you are like I was ,completely lost, even though you might have been natural for quite some time (for me 4 years and some change) and are still dealing with a ridiculous amount of breakage don't give up yet. I guarantee you will be completely satisfied with this book and once read it will be refered to and hopefully the chain of unhealthy hair practices and misinformation will be broken by keeping it as an important heirloom. The shipping was speedy and it's decently priced thank you so much.
