  • Robert B. Parker's works

As always, Robert B. Parker is the best author I've read. Sadly, we lost him in 2010 but his work lives on! I've read nearly everything he's written and I can recommend every book!

  • The Boxer and the Spy by Robert B Parker

Robert B Parker is my favorite author. He is well known for his Spenser books but has also published a couple of books for teenagers, The Edenville Owls and this one The Boxer And the Spy. They both involve the life of teenagers solving a mystery. Very good, clean reading for both teenagers and adults alike. Try it, you won't be sorry.

  • COULD GET A TEENAGER TO READ A BOOK

The second in Parker's young adult fiction forays, this book compares poorly to its predecessor, "Edenville Owls". The latter was a great coming-of-age novel that looked nostalgically back at growing up in the '40s. This second entry is simply not as appealing, at least to me. There are good points; the main character is appealing, and his attempts to know who he is and find his core through boxing, with an older boxing coach mentor, are interesting. The plot stretches belief, and the character of the principal is simply unbelievable. I think a teenager might enjoy this book as a quick read, but I think Parker should still to nostalgia about his own childhood era when writing further young adult books.

  • The Boxer and The Spy by Robert B. Parker

In his usual style, Parker grabs you and keeps your attention. One of the things I enjoy with Parker's book, the chapters are short. You don't have to read 25 or 30 pages to finish a chapter. Makes it convenient to stop when necessary at the end of a chapter. Great little book. Recommended.

  • very appropriate title

Parker has written another story for his young readers. He continues to show his versatility in writing on various themes.
