    Spent a full day at it. Machine work excellent, hard to install with out proper and custom made tools

    Machine work was excellent. I am a Heavy Equipt Mechanic for 55 yrs, instructions were terrible to nonexistent and the copy very poor and as per require the use of a lathe. I hand filed knuld shaft and got accurate but spent a full day working on it. The machining was excellent but so much trouble to install its so much moe efficient to purchase the entire motor with shaft assembly and just put it in. Maybe if the sales to public included a core of their unit and the machinist rebuilt it would b worth the while. The roll pin must be driven inboard, the pivot pin is a press fit so it can be driven inboard as well.

    fabrication needed to make it work.

    part was shipped fast but came with no instructions. I had to grind down the diameter of the gears so they would fit in the housing correctly. And like another review states, Its not brass. magnets stick to it. either way I was able to get it to work and im selling the truck.

    It’s ok if you have machinist skills.

    The gear did not fit. I had to cut the groves deeper into the gear, file them until I could put the unit together without the drive gear (metal, not plastic) binding because the grooves in the new brass gear weren’t deep enough. Also, not sure if it is a brass gear, or just brass colored. It looked like steel. With modification it worked, so a good value compared to the $1600 General Motors wants for a complete track unit (three motors included).

    Difficult to use.

    If you aren't totally mechanically inclined, this isn't for you. If you are and are sharp with a grinder or if you have a lathe at your disposal, it's an hour or two of work.
