    An Introduction to Steamboats

    A basic book on steamboats. There are not a lot of photo's in the book and it certainly is not a great help to any model builder. There are some interesting photos showing boats almost covered from waterline to the pilot house with cotton bales. There are also a few interior shots showing just how ornate some were inside. There is nothing about the mechanics of the boats. I wouldn't spend a lot on a copy for any reason.

    Nice history of the era

    Very nice book on the history of riverboats. Lots of fine pictures of the interiors of these grand boats, as well of plenty of picture of the boats themselves. Also several one page articles on various subjects related to the happenings associated with the era.
