Quirky characters bring warmth to the small town of Cicely, Alaska, in this popular dramedy from the 1990s. Rob Morrow (QUIZ SHOW) stars as Dr. Joel Fleischman, a city dweller forced to leave Manhattan for the tiny northern hamlet. Country may clash with the city, but it provides heated chemistry between Joel and a sexy local pilot named Maggie (Janine Turner). Cicely is also home to radio DJ "Chris-in-the-morning" (John Corbett, SEX AND THE CITY), former astronaut and current millionaire Maurice J. Minnifield (Barry Corbin), and a number of other strangely lovable residents. Despite its remote location, Cicely is never boring, with the citizens hosting a Mosquito Festival and discovering the flesh-eating tendencies in their family trees. This set features all six seasons of the Emmy-winning series, from Joel's arrival in Cicely in the first episode, to his departure in season six, and the appearance of his replacement, played by Paul Provenza.

    This is an ageless classic

    Everybody loves Northern Exposure. The complete series is the way to go. Whenever we can't find anything to watch on the tv, we just pop in a dvd and watch a few episodes at a time. The characters are great. It always puts me in a good mood. The only drawback is that when remastered it onto dvds, they stretched it to fit so it's distorted on the edges. Having said that, it doesn't take all that much away from the show. They either get better at doing it or I have gotten used to it.

    Not a complete set / good until season 6

    We love this series. Have two hundred channels and nothing worth watching! This series is when TV was good. This complete series does not disappoint......We only allow one episode a night so it will last.....we will not bindge watch as it would be easy to do so. If you want some good entertainment without politics and smut....this is a great series. Worth buying for many hours of enjoyable entertainment. Not a complete set. Season six is missing episodes 7/8/22/23.

    Classic 90's show not available on Re-runs.

    Been looking for Northern Exposure on Re-runs for years, but it hasn't been released, so I'm happy to have it in my possession now. There's a few spots where the DVD hesitates/stops. If it's brand new, I'm not sure why it would do that, but it has resumed playing each time.....a little dust maybe?

    Excellent series - questionable disc quality

    I have been hardly waiting to start this set, but I am disappointed (and I wish I would have read others reviews) but the first disc has issues, freezing up really badly on the last episode of the disc to a point where I just forfeited watching the last 20 mins or so of it, I moved on to disc 2 and so far so good. I'm hoping there are no more issues but it seems according to another reviewer that other discs may have problems and episodes are missing from season 6 ??? What the heck?!?! How can this be called a "complete series" then?? Hmmmm! We'll see. : /

    Funny, very thought-provoking series. There are certain hints at spirituality, that are very endearing. I have only seen the first year so far, but I know the series, and I am happy to have it.
