Entertainment to the Next Level
The Celtic Thunder "LADS" are so talented and entertaining--you can tell they thoroughly enjoy singing with each other and doing what they do best. That is performing for their fans. I own most of their DVDs and CDs and plan to own more. I watch the DVDs almost every day and listen to the CDs daily while on the computer. They just put me in a happy place. Love them!!!

Good, but disappointing
We love Celtic Thunder's "The Show" -- it is by far their best work. When I came across "Take Me Home" it indicated that it only had about 3 of the original songs on it. I must have misunderstood, because over half the concert has the same songs as "The Show". It still is a good concert, but not as technically well-done as "The Show" (sound, lighting, smaller orchestra, etc.). Damian is grown up and instead of having a beautiful tenor voice, he now has a nice baritone voice, so even the same songs as on "The Show" sound different (and not quite as pretty). Overall, it's not a bad DVD, but if you have the option, purchase "The Show" -- it is much, much better.We love Celtic Thunder's "The Show" -- it is by far their best work. Celtic Thunder's superlative DVD has worked its magic.
I love, love, love everything about this DVD. It displays every style from Irish bluegrass music to the operatic and most everything in between. As far as I am concerned, they put to shame most of what passes for music nowadays. Because they can, you know, actually sing! I had seen Celtic Thunder before on their latest PBS special this fall so knew what to expect as to style and substance. They sing separately as well as a group. Every song on the DVD is delivered with the utmost flair and charisma, and the talent is second to none. If you have an interest in Celtic music, you will be especially drawn to this group, and if you just love good music in general, give them a listen, you are in for a major treat. Individually and collectively, the members of Celtic Thunder are eminently ... I love, love, love everything about this DVD. The best adjective I can use to describe them, beyond their obvious talent, is "real" - watching them and listening to them, you know beyond a doubt that you are being thoroughly entertained by a group of young men from the British Isles who love what they do and could not imagine doing anything else. In every way possible, they are doing what they were born to do; and I am thrilled beyond measure that I have had the great good fortune, via song and story, of being introduced into their world. I have now seen them in person several times and they just keep getting better and better. As good as their cds are, the dvds are better, because experiencing their show in person is the icing on the cake. They absolutely soar - my Irish heritage has truly found a home.

Amazing entertainment! Diverse music, Great Vocals!
My husband told me about the PBS special he saw of Celtic Thunder and knew that I would really enjoy seeing this group! We rented the DVD first and I knew I had to have it to watch and share it over and over. I then found out they were coming to our area and immediately bought tickets for my daughters and myself. The "Take me Home" theatrical show was the same as the DVD except you didn't get the closeups and special shots that you do in the video! My daughters actually enjoyed the DVD more because they could see the show from a much better angle than our seats at the theater! The performers are 5 guys who are unique unto themselves. They not only sing together in amazing harmony, but they also perform solo. The men come from different parts of Ireland and are different ages ranging ...
