    B-Movie Drive-In Horror Film Is Nostalgic Fun!

    Beast Of The Yellow Night was shot in The Phillipines in 1971, and is a fun look back at the days of the Drive-In. Directed by Eddie Romero, the film itself is not exactly a "classic", but the storyline of the World War II army deserter selling his soul to the devil makes for an interesting premise. He eventually transforms into the "Beast" from the title, wreaking havoc & devouring human flesh while galavanting around Manila. He actually becomes a sympathetic character at one point. The movie is fairly crude (as expected), but there's some gore and a couple of chills. John Ashley, a former teen idol-type dude stars as the creepy looking monster. The Retromedia DVD has lots of cool extras, including vintage 35mm Retro Drive-In spots & an in-depth bio on Mr. Ashley. This ISN'T ...
