    Worth the money

    This i7-3770 CPU, even though it is several generations behind, has been worth the coin. I was using an i5 3570 before getting the i7 3770. I can notice a great boost in performance since installing the i7-3770, which is due to the hyper-threading. This in turn allows me to run a VM (Virtual Machine) with two cores and still play video games like Tom Clancy's the Division, The Witcher 3, Dark Souls 3, with out noticing any performance issues.

    A nice mid-range CPU.

    While this CPU is not on Microsoft's approved list for Win11, it works very nicely with Win10 or Linux. It has enough power and threads to eat up development tasks like compiling without requiring a new motherboard and RAM. The chip has the features necessary to run virtual machine with passthru. Unless you are a gamer who needs to push the fps horizon then this processor can probably do whatever you need at a fraction of the cost of a current model.

    Best you can get for LGA 1155

    I got lucky and scored a slightly higher performing i7 CPU. Its the fastest thing I could put in that socket so it gave my computer a few more years of life. I topped it with a modified stock cooler to a silent 'Be Quiet' and it idles at 34°C. The system is tickity boo.
