    It worked!

I had an appliance repair person look at our dishwasher that wasn't heating. He said all the parts checked out OK and there wasn't much he could do to fix it. I didn't want to buy a new dishwasher so I did further research which led me to this flood switch. I had my doubts if this would work but ordered the part anyway. It was relatively easy to install and to my surprise it fixed the problem! Back to actual heat, steam, clean, and dry dishes!

  • Dishwasher Flood Switch also controls Drying and Steam Cycles

This part fixed the no heat or steam drying cycle for our GE dishwasher. Took less than 30 minutes to install. Found an easy to follow install video on YouTube. Replace this part before you replace the heating element.

  • Dishwasher not draining...

This part has a float located inside and can hear it move on a new piece. My old flood switch assembly felt like one piece no moving parts. Everyone commented this fixed their heating issue, but this fixed my draining issue. Additionally, cleaned drain hose and even put in a new drain pump. If had to do all over would have checked this flood assembly first, make sure the float is still moving inside (even poking old with paper clip, running under hot water etc didn’t loosen any debris), then look for clog in drain hose to garbage disposal, then the drain pump.

  • GE dishwasher heater controller is inside this "flood switch"

This "flood switch" also happens to contain the RTD that controls the heating element and temperature of your dishwater cycles from hot water to heated drying to steam sanitization. The RTD seems to be the weak link in this part because our GE dishwasher was only 4 years old when it started washing everything poorly with cold water and would not dry the dishes either.

  • Exactly what we needed!

Our 5 year old dishwasher began acting up. It wouldn't dry the dishes and the water wasn't getting hot enough to clean them. I saw a couple of videos that said they replaced this switch so I thought I'd try a $20.00 part before spending hundreds on a new dishwasher...this was a direct replacement, came quickly and fixed the problem!
