Product Information

Modifying their singular circus extravaganza for the television medium, Cirque du Soleil incorporated the influences of situation comedy, film, and theater to create the 13-episode SOLSTROM. Each themed program took as its starting point the idea of a solar wind blowing to Earth, bringing strange characters with it and enchanting everything it touched. "Romance" is set in an Italian village square, where the solar wind inspires love in everyone it touches, while "Traveling" takes an airport worker on a wild journey through the American desert. "Gothic" turns a hotel into a haunted Gothic mansion, replete with all manner of ghostly doings and magical intrigue. In "Disguises," a warehouse full of costumes comes to life, taking the night watchman with them on an adventure that no one will believe. The exuberant Cirque du Soleil was originally conceived as a form of street theater, and has maintained its roots as it grew more and more elaborate, creating stories from myths and legends and bringing them to life in truly unique performances.

    Cirque du Soleil TV Series on DVD

    Cirque du Soleil is a circus founded in Canada, so it isn't the average circus. It's full of strange and outrageous stunts and acrobatics. If you enjoy bright and extreme costumes and the strange and bizzare, this will entertain you. This particular DVD is the Cirque du Soleil TV series. It includes several episodes, each with a different theme. It's a fun filled experience for the whole family.

    Fantastic

    This and Quidam are the best of the DVD offerings by this CdS. You may have seen some of the acts before but it won't matter since they are framed within a framework of stories with a solar wind theme. Several of the shows (there are 13)might better be enjoyed by adults but the whole family should enjoy most of them. You will find your favorites and probably replay the individual episodes often. They are just that good. (After you are finished with this one try Quidam for a complete change of pace)
