Seller shipped promptly and price was good. Working with the seller, I learned that the Scott catalogue description (Scott C60). Scott lists this stamp as showing the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, whereas Michel 1739 clearly identifies this as the Selimiye Mosque in Edirne. Seller gracuously explained that Scott is in error and why the illustration is clearly the Selimiye mosque in Edirne.
Follow-up from: o***o- Feedback followed up on by buyer.- Feedback followed up on by buyer.
I can only leave a follow up that the Scott and Michel catalogues identifications differ. It appears that Scott may have erroneously identified the mosque as Hagia Sophia (Istanbul), whereas Michel says Selimiye (Edirne). My rating should change to positive rather than neutral. Buyers need to be aware of this discrepancy on Scott C60, Michel 1739.
