About this product

Product Information

Ken Follett's The Key to Rebecca took readers and critics by storm when first published more than fifteen years ago. Today, it remains one of the best espionage novels ever written. A brilliant and ruthless Nazi master agent is on the loose in Cairo. His mission is to send Rommel's advancing army the secrets that will unlock the city's doors. In all of Cairo, only two people can stop him. One is a down-on-his-luck English officer no one will listen to. The other is a vulnerable young Jewish girl....

  • Ken Follett is a masterful storyteller

Ken Follett is one of my favorite authors. His plots are smart, his writing is well crafted; just a joy to read. I particularly like that his stories are usually set amidst an important time or event in history, and this one set in WWII Egypt is no exception. I recently discovered him and am devouring his books as quickly as I can get them.

  • A Spy versus tracker in WW IINorth Africa

In the Second World War, the Africa Campaign, which included Germans, Italians, British and Americans receives less attention. This novel follows the efforts of a German agent in British occupied Cairo to pass critical information to Romel, and a British officer trying to track and forestall him. It’s a great thriller and period piece. In the real war, a British deception turned the tables. The book is a good duel between two well matched opponents, like “The Day of the Jackel”. This was a turning point, and the loss of Axis forces contributed to the hollowing out of Acis forces and was an early turning point in the Western Front, entertainingly written.
