    An Under-appreciated Winner

    This is a well done Western with modern touches and straightforward plot. The script is clever and entertaining with a number of memorable one liners. Lee Marvin, Burt Lancaster, Robert Ryan, and Woody Strode are perfectly cast as “professionals” and the cinematography is beautiful. What I like most is the “down to earth” approach the movie takes with its action scenes - no excessive explosions, impossible fight moves, or implausible scene resolutions. If I had to identify a weakness with the movie it would be Claudia Cardinale’s acting. I’ve seen squirrels convey emotion better than Claudia.

    Translation is Great

    I have waited all my life for this kind of broadcast. It's the first Western I've found that translates the Mexican language to English like a subtitle. When I was a kid, I was going to learn Spanish just to know what they were saying. Needless to say I love old Westerns and along with the sub titles, the movie is very good.
