Good for some, but not for all, worth the money!
I bought the amp as an open-box special deal, when I first turned it on the power transformer itself was buzzing, but that was quickly addressed by tightening the clamshell cover screws on it, probably why it was on clearance. The overdrive channel is a bit weak and muddy for my liking, but I bought this amp for the clean channel, which is awesome sounding with real rich tube amp tone. You can't expect a marshall sound from a bargain 50 watt tube amp, but this amp was worth the money. I may try a few different tubes out on it to see if I can squeeze out a better sounding overdrive channel. Its not auper loud for 50 watts but it has a killer clean channel great pedal platform and good enough distortion channel although i isually just push my cleans to overdrive , also built in antenuator to get bed room volume that sounds nice

It doesn't need to be expensive to sound good
I have alot of guitar amps, a collection of amps and guitars that includes a Duo Jet George Harrison Tribute ( the $20,000 one) 2 Gibson Les Pauls one a Supreme. But this is about amps, and I have plenty of tube amps to compare this one to. A 100 watt 68 Fender Showman, a 66 Bandmaster, modded to a bassman circuit. A Gibson Super Goldtone head. A Vox Tony Bruno. So when I bought this amp I didn't expect much, it was to be a practice amp or a backup. When I got it I also got the speaker cab, The speakers were ceramic so I replaced them with Jensen P 12 R Alnico speakers, (huge difference) then I discovered this amp has incredible versatility, 50 watt class A or class A/B and Stereo. It also has the ability to take two completely different tube sets without biasing! This basically gives you ... TUBE-A-LICIOUS !
If you are some what tube savvy, and can change tubes to your liking, and all you need is 50 watts, (if you need more power and flavor, get 2 or 3, etc..) then make a good investment and stock up on these while the price is right.
