Movie "MORPH'S" into ID4 near the ending.

The plot line strings you along for most of the movie, unsure who this southern talking charmer is on board the mother ship. The two or three main characters, if you want to include Morgan Freeman, Remind me of a futuristic castaways, with the secluded out in nowhere land repairing the drone ships. Not until almost the fourth quarter of the movie does the main character discover he is a clone and his memories are not his own. THIS being his biggest flaw, is used to his advantage to rescue his former wife and put a wall between his repair partner, who is pretty smoking herself, especially in the pool scene. Running into the humans left on Earth to fend for themselves, Morgan Freeman tries to convince Tom Cruise's character to join their fight and eventually does. Not until this part of the ...

  • Oblivion (Blu-ray/DVD, 2013, 2-Disc Set, & Digital Copy; UltraViolet)

I'm a Sci-Fi fan and and this movie is great. If you are used to sci fi in general you'll probably figure out the huge plot point within a couple of minutes of the movie starting, but you'll still have to continue watching to understand why that is the case. This isn't your standard post apocalyptic alien invasion movie. It has a little bit more brains. The setting is fantastic, the environment and cinematography is fantastic. Acting is ok, action is great, and the over arching plot point, really sets it apart from your standard "Aliens invade and try to kill us." There is a far more intelligent methodology. What makes it work is the perspective that the move is told from. Meaning Tom Cruises characters's perspective is a unique take on a classic ...

  • A good buy of a DVD

A very good purchase for an excellent movie though not an action adventure type of constant slam bang action it is a worthy science fiction to enjoy. I would have preferred more than the commentary with more featurettes though what is included on the disc is okay. Perhaps I'm just being too judgmental expecting more. If you want a slam bang experience from start to finish this movie won't satisfy; however, as a science fiction film its a good one for enjoyment, but only if a slow pace is what you're looking for of a movie.

  • An overlooked Sci-Fi film worth seeing now.

Missed it when it first came out. Worth seeing now on the rebound. A Sci-Fi film that makes you think, but then again maybe it is deliberately misleading and puzzling. Raises a lot of questions about what is going on, and that is tantalizing in a good way. The three or four major actors are top notch and do a good job. Olga especially is surprising after having seen her as a villain in CENTURION.
