    Great Filter

    I use the Nikon NC filters on all my Nikons and Olympus cameras. They have no affect on the photos taken, make it easier to keep the lens front clean, and offer some protection for the lens its self from scratches.

    Inexpensive way to protect expense lens.

    To me the use of a filter is a no brainer. Who wouldn't want to protect a expensive lens with an inexpensive filter that has no effect on image quality.

    Good protection for front element

    Some "purists" eschew the use of a protective filter, saying that it is an additional layer through which the light one is capturing must pass, which "degrades" the image being captured. I dont agree. I cannot discern appreciable difference between images taken with the front lens element exposed, and with a clear filter of this quality protecting it for inadvertently dropping the camera (absorb impact), raindrops, seaspray, etc. protection of the front lens element. I would much rather clean a filter, than continually rub the front element itself, possibly affecting its coating, and rubbing grime, etc. around on it. I use clear filters on *all* my lenses.
