my theory....
...GORGEOUSLY filmed...............expertly written..............well-paced........totally engaging masterpiece!! It's no wonder Mr. Redmayne won the Oscar! He is perfectly cast as Mr. Hawking. All the actors give superb per- formances, but one cannot take one's eyes off Eddie Redmayne -- he's THAT GOOD!!!

Interesting, but not the whole story!
Plot: A look at the relationship between the famous physicist Stephen Hawking and his wife. Early days through the 1990's Not as good as I had hoped, but Eddie Redmayne was just AMAZING as Hawking. I found it a bit dis-ingenuous that they very much downplayed the FACT that it was American ingenuity and computer prowess that enabled Hawking to "speak." they only eluded to it with the short bit about the "voice is American." and the friend said, "that's all they had." Of course that's all they had, because the British had NOTHING! That being said, I gave it a 4 and it's worth a view. There are OTHER documentary style films about Hawking that I liked better to be honest. Director: James Marsh Writers: Anthony McCarten (screenplay), ...
