Does what it says it does, which is still a lot more complicated for a DC user adapting to DC/DCC, though it's about as simple as it can be overall. It does mean that it has to be where it can clearly be seen to operate (unlike my old power pack that I can run just by touch). The remote does make that all a lot easier. This unit came fast, well packed, in original package, arrived intact, and solves the DC OR DCC problem by making it DC AND DCC without extra wiring, decoders, etc.

New as described, $12.86 shipping seems awful high for 4 small items that fit inside a padded 9x7 envelope, and weighed 8 ounces. I admit I don't know what the "ground advantage" rates are, but it still seems high for that small package. Otherwise, Iron Planet Hobbies has always been a great company to do business with, and I won't hesitate to buy from them again. A+++++
