My Favorite
While we all know "Iris" which got enough air play to burn the lyrics into our brains forever, do you know anything else from the Goo Goo Dolls? This is my favorite cd of theirs. It has less of the stylized sound that some people might prefer. It is a raw, emotional, and surprisingly honest portrayal of people who are at a crossroad in their lives. Rock and roll is not all lipstick and hairspray. Sometimes it is the human state of being lost and trying to find the way. This is not feel good music, but it scratches an itch when you are in a melancholy mood. I think this was the Goo Goo Dolls bravest and most real moment in their career and we are lucky to be able to share it with them. Great album
This is deffinetly a must buy for any Goo Goo Dolls fan. This album is primarily based off of Johnny's divorce and you can certainly tell in each one of these songs by listening to the lyrics. This is an album that is perfect for you to compare whenever you are going through a break up or anything to that effect because Johnny certainly chose the right words to describe such emotions. ... and deffinetly listen to "Big Machine" -- it is phenominal, everyone can relate to that song.This is deffinetly a must buy for any Goo Goo Dolls fan. More Great Songs from The Goo Goo Dolls
It's tough to follow up a masterpiece, which is what the Goo Goo Dolls had to do with Gutterflower. "Big Machine" is one of my personal favorite Goo Goo Dolls songs, and Robbie Takac really shines on his songs. "Tucked Away" is another standout song that I like almost as much as "Big Machine". The album does suffer from two of its tracks being majorly overplayed by radio stations, but overall it's a good album.It's tough to follow up a masterpiece, which is what the Goo Goo Dolls had to do with Gutterflower.
