Broader, Deeper, Than The Debut Album
This is not so sunny an album as "Scissor Sisters" was. There is but one infectiously boppy dance number, and it's called "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'." The rest of the tracks are a fine set indeed; particularly the other number co-authored with Elton John, "Intermission," whose jaunty rhythm underscores the rather dour lyric refrain "Tomorrow's not what it used to be; we were born to die." This is decidedly down-beat territory, yet the Sisters travel it with all their melodic, rhythmic, and comedic talent on full display. Worthy Follow-up!!
This band is inspried by New Yorks Homosexual Night-Life scene and this is reflected in their songs. Their first album sounded like a Greatest Hits Collaboration and was the best selling Album of 2004 in the UK - well deserved!! This album seems to have more structure to it and almost sounds too perfect. Not quite as good and refreshing as the debut - but still a worthy follow-up! The lead single 'I don't feel like dancing' is by far the best track but with such an amazing song, what else could be better?This band is inspried by New Yorks Homosexual Night-Life scene and this is reflected in their songs. Scissor Sisters' "Ta-Dah" puts on a fine show.

But listen a second time, and I guarantee that you'll listen again...and again...and again. The songs are all catchy, even the slower ones that may seem like some sort of 70's throwback. Bouncy, fun music
I bought this for the song "I Can't Decide" after hearing it on Youtube...but I found that the album, as a whole, is a lot of fun. The music's bouncy and ear-friendly, the lyrics are often very clever and unconventional (the latter point counts heavily with me; I've had more than enough predictable songs) and the production values are quite good. I plan to look for more of this group's songs---I'd never heard of them before.I bought this for the song "I Can't Decide" after hearing it on Youtube...but I found that the album, as a whole, is a lot of fun. Awesome Album! Best SS CD so far!
Pop this CD in your car stereo and freakin' jam out! From start to finish, this SS CD blows out the last one which only had a couple of really good songs on it. This one seems to be mixed a lot better too. I would start with "I Don't Feel Like Dancin" followed by "Kiss You Off".
