About this product

Product Information

Director Sam Raimi's first film has achieved legendary status since its 1982 release, and for good reason. Though perhaps not as widely seen as its two sequels, EVIL DEAD 2 and ARMY OF DARKNESS, THE EVIL DEAD is arguably the best of the three. It is the story of five college-age friends who travel to a cabin in rural Tennessee where the stumble upon the Book of the Dead, an ancient tome bound in human flesh and inked in blood. After unwittingly awakening the unspeakable terror told of in the book, each of the friends is transformed into the evil dead, one by one, except for Ash (Bruce Campbell). So, Ash is left with no other way to survive than to dismember the living corpses of his sister, girlfriend, and two of his friends. Shot on a shoestring budget, the film boasts some impressive camera work and extremely over-the-top gore effects as well as a sense of humor much more subtle than the tongue-in-cheek aesthetic of the two sequels.

The Necronomicon-Fun for Psychos of all ages!

This book is designed & drawn the same as the book in the actual Evil Dead movies. With a wine colored ink on yellowed paper, it is easy to get quickly pulled into the fantasy of actually reading something that is taboo. Beautifully illustrated & easy to read once you decode the NECRONOMICON alphabet. It is written in english but with stylistic characters. Once your eyes get used to what they see, it will be easy to read the incantations. Great for Zombie lovers or if you want to scare your little brothers & sisters with this evil looking text wrapped in faux human skin. The texture is not rubbery at all but smooth & bumpy almost like scar tissue or a keloid.

  • The Evil Dead (2002, DVD)

“The Evil Dead” (1981) is one of the most original and impressive B-horror movies ever made! Not only did it launch the career of director Sam Raimi (“Spider-man” Trilogy) it was also the debut of popular cult actor Bruce Campbell. “The Evil Dead” is the story of a group of college students who vacation in an old cabin in the woods, little did they know that they would unwittingly raise a dark, demonic force from the ancient “Necronomicon: The Book of the Dead”. In one horrifying night the group will be possessed by the demons one by one, who will survive the horror!? “The Evil Dead” 2002 Limited Edition DVD is one of the best collectible DVD’s in recent years. Although there is only 1 disc, the DVD includes a large amount of extras such as Trailers, Commentaries, Galleries, Biographies, ...

  • Just awesome, a great Low-Budget horror film

Everybody I know loves this film, and so does everybody they know and so on and so forth... Seriously awesome Low-Budget horror/zombie film. Bruce Campbell is amazing and this film is so cheesy you could put it on a pizza. The Evil Dead trilogy is one of my all-time favorites, and I feel that the Evil Dead series really started up the horror movies that don't take themselves too serious. Evil Dead one is an absolute classic, it's the film that started it all and it's still highly enjoyable every time I watch it. Final verdict: 5/5 Rent or buy?: A must buy for any Low-Budget horror fan. IF YOU FIND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE. Thank you.

  • The Evil Dead, Book of the Dead edition DVD.

Firstly I'll talk about the DVD itself. The DVD is actually the same as the evil dead special edition, which is a good thing because it includes the commentary and widescreen version of the film. However, the real reason you would want this particular edtion is beacuse of it's box.The box alone is worth the money, beacause of what a sweet prop replica it is.It has somthing like 16 art pages drawn by Tom Sullivan himself, as well as a latex covering(also designed by Tom Sullivan).Incidently, Tom Sullivan is the man who designed all of the props used in all of the Evil Dead movies. So to be fair, if all you want is the movie, then the special edition is the way to go, but if your willing to put in enough time to find this edition for a good price, then by all means go for this one. Also, I would ...
