About this product

Product Information

Released just a year after the original, the 2010 follow-up to developer Spike Co.'s high-def Dragon Ball brawler offers refined controls, an improved camera, and more characters. The game's story is told in a new action-adventure mode that takes place between the fighting-game styled battles. Over 90 characters can be unlocked for play, including more than 20 that are new to the Raging Blast series. Under the game's "Raging Soul" battle system, players can master combos and attack sequences that raise their characters' powers to the highest level. Characters speak in their original Japanese voices. Battle stages have been enhanced since the first game, for more interactivity and destructive effects, with four new battlefields in addition to the original ten. There are seven main modes of play, including offline and online battles against other players. Character items and accessories can be unlocked by conquering challenges in various game modes. The retail disc editions of Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 also include a complete Dragon Ball episode, titled "Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans," which was re-written and re-edited from an episode of the Japanese anime series. Players who watch the entire episode will unlock an additional in-game character.

One of the last good dbz games.

Raging Blast 2 is one of the last good dbz games. Closest you'll get to tenkaichi. The game still holds up till this day, like the graphics are really good. Gameplay is solid for its time as well. Only thing I wished it had were a few more characters and a story mode rather than a galaxy mode even tho rb 1 had a story mode already.

Decent DBZ game, but could be better.

Gameplay: 6/10 Sound/Music: 6/10 Graphics: 8/10 Difficulty: varies If it wasn’t for my childhood nostalgia and being a long fan of DBZ, I’d give this game a 5/10. That doesn’t take away the fact that it’s still a decent game. The game holds no story, but instead offers “Galaxy Mode,” a series of missions where you choose a character from the roster, and fight under certain criteria. Difficulty can be a pain as some missions require you to defeat an opponent as you have no health. The gameplay controls can be a bit clunky at times, as seen when trying to evade moves, and requires precise timing. Overall, I give this game a 6.5/10. There isn’t really any replay value after you beat all the missions, unless you fight PvP or PvCPU. I’d say it’s defiantly a pickup if you’re a DBZ fan.

  • Defective

Had to stop kidding myself and just shell out for another disc from someone else after repeated attempts. The one I got had so many scratches. It’s too bad I didn’t test the game until now! Game itself has well known issues with online play, but my game was freezing inexplicably during an offline single player mode after 1 or 2 battles (not enough to get anywhere). Oh well. Better check earlier next time. I usually only buy (especially with licensed games like these which you’re absolutely not getting cheap, especially not the Budokai HD collection) if the listing has clear photos of the bottom of the disc being scratch free anyway. No good reason they should ever happen to be honest, nor for them to be for sale. I’ve learned my lesson, hope I remember it.

  • Raging Blast 2 Review

Dragon Ball Z Raging Blast 2 is what I'd call half baked remake of Tenkaichi 2. Graphics are phenomenal along with the sound quality and maps but it lacks the high paced and well controlled Tenkaichi gameplay. Raging Blast 2 loses fluidity in exchange for that but along with that I think the game is a great time. I'd recommend it though if you do adore GT characters then don't pick it up as it only retells the Z story.

  • Awesome game. Very true to the franchise. A must have for any dbz fan.

Really awesome game especially if you're an avid dbz fan. Gameplay is great, graphics are really true to the dbz franchise and the controls are very responsive. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is a long time fan of the series. The only flaw may be the abscense of the story mode that was included in raging blast 1 but its a minor flaw unless you just really want a story mode included. All in all an excellent game especially for fans of the series. A must have for any dbz fan that is also a gamer.
