  • Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an America

This is an excellent autobiography by Frederick Douglass about his life as a slave, how he taught himself to read, and how he escaped slavery to become a great orator and activist for the anti-slavery movement.

  • A different perspective...

I purchased this book for my US History class and it more than served its purpose. It gives some insight into the life of Frederick Douglass and a different perspective on the history, and struggles endured by slaves during the 1800's.
