SNAKES ON A PLANE's magnificently self-explanatory title triggered a cascade of buzz and anticipation, and fans of truth in advertising will be relieved to learn that the movie lives up to its billing in every way: there are many snakes, they are on an airplane, Samuel L. Jackson is there to show them who's boss, and the results are just as fun as they are silly. Jackson stars as Nelville Flynn, an FBI agent escorting a witness (Nathan Phillips) on a flight to Los Angeles. Phillips is supposed to testify against an evil mobster, but the details really aren't important, and the filmmakers are smart enough to focus on what counts: a variety pack of poisonous snakes is released mid-flight. To make matters worse, the snakes are crazed and violent because of pheromones, leading to the truly classic Samuel L. Jackson line, "Great. Snakes on crack."With the notable exception of Jackson, most of the cast couldn't act its way out of an airplane barf bag, but that's probably for the best, as good performances would only serve as a distraction from the snakes--who have no trouble springing out of luggage compartments, toilets, and even mouths. The flight includes a standard array of monster-bait, including an arrogant rapper (Flex Alexander), his bodyguard (Kenan Thompson), a flight attendant on her last trip (Julianna Margulies), a rich princess (Rachel Blanchard), and an irritable misanthrope (Gerard Plunkett). But mostly, there are snakes. The script is full of punch lines, some intentional and others not, but the movie expertly treads the line between spoof and sincere B-movie, and fans of both genres should be thoroughly satisfied.

The film starts off with an idiot riding around on his sh**ty little dirt bike, he's being all extreme and whatnot for a few minutes - when he stumbles on a murder taking place. Some Asian and his knucklehead hirelings had seemingly decided to toss their victim off a bridge and into some trees - where he had gotten tangled in the branches.The idiot who's bein' all Jeremy Mcgrath around and about the foliage - wipes out, because (or so he'd claim) bungee bob had been hanging from the trees in idiots path. Idiot zombie shuffles over to 'Dangling Dan' with a moronic, but good intended offer to help. Ole' selfless Danny boy orders idiot to flee, he mentions that Uber Asian's not quite done with the killing him part of it. (At this point there still wasn't any mention or sight of snakes nor a ... It seems that 'Jackie Chan's' goon platoon had finally realized that they had botched their assassination attempt, so they finally arrive - looking all put out that 'Danny boy' had managed to invent an 'extreme' sport of his own - surviving a half assed attempt on one's life. So the goon platoon advance on 'Dangling Dan', who are then followed by the insane and inappropriately dressed (he was wearing a dreadfully conspicuous white suit) 'Mr. Chan'. Ole' 'Jackie' then proceeds to go all Tony Montana on 'Danny Boy' with the large end of a bat that he had apparently forgotten to make use of a bit earlier on. Idiot watches 'danny boy's' untimely demise and his blood splattering 'Jackie's' new and now even more conspicuous white suit, but upon being seen - he rushes off. (I was hoping that Idiot would have been beaten to death as well, but he got away. Idiot lived - I was sad and that, folks - was the end of that nonsensical chapter.) Oh yeah, this film is pure cinema gold, but it gets even better! Next comes the appearance of the man himself, Samuel Mother F***ing Jackson but he was a detective - not a jedi, which sucked.) Sammie saves idiot from the goon platoon that had apparently tracked him down with jedi like powers of their own. After saving Idiots life, Sammie informs him that he's a important Mother F***er and he better not be getting' his fool ass killed. Sammie informs Idiot of his plan to remove 'Jackie Chan's' karate like strangle hold on America's *cough* assets. Sammie decides to fly Idiot someplace - to um.. testify against the comically sinister 'Jackie Chan'(Honestly, I didn't care where they were headed at this point as long as Sammie got his mother f***ing ass on a plane.) Apparently 'Jackie' and the goon platoon managed to get an enormous lot of snakes through airport security and on Idiots plane without raising any suspicion at all - which was quite impressive. Now that the Idiot and people even more stupid than him board the plane - the snakes get loose and start the most entertaining havoc I have seen in a film. (The snakes ruled - they were popping out of everything and out of everywhere, biting all the stupid passengers - I loved it.) Snakes are the true star of this film and they were much better actors than their costars - well, perhaps all with the exception of Sammie. If you're into bad films that involve snakes -like me, you'll love it.

Snakes on a Plane - Much better than Anaconda 2 This is the MOVIE OF THE YEAR... just kidding, but it's pretty good. It definitely lives up to the hype. The snakes are really well done and the there actually is a pretty decent story to this movie. Samuel L. Jackson is awesome and so is the supporting cast. If you're in the mood for action and thrills this movie is for you. My only problem with it is that it's a touch long, could've been 85 minutes instead of 105. Final Verdict: 5/5 Rent or Buy?: Buy this one for something to watch when there's nothing else on t.v. I'll buy a copy just to have a piece of cinema history. Not a bad movie. However, Jackson’s acting still has not improved Over the years, is talent is screaming & bad language.
