Action RPG With Colorful Variety
This game is easy to remember where you were and what looks new. Very helpful for quest adventures and encourages you to go on instead of being frustrated with same looking areas that end up going in circles.

The Hobbit
Like a movie vs. a book. This follows closer to the book. The other Tolkien games follow the movie more. This one may be a little slower but more interesting. The other ones have more action. Still a very good game.

Nice premise, Flawed execution
If you are looking for this game to follow the book. It only loosely follows the book. But that isn't actually the main problem with the game. It is a platformer with a bad camera, cheap deaths, and even worse a constant puzzle game involving unlocking chest that I believe was created by a sadist. You will probably lose more lives on that than actually fighting enemies. Grafics are nothing to brag about, but average. I did like most of the characters and some of the levels. There is a lot of humor and the voice acting was good. If it wasn't for the flawed gameplay, it would be an above average game for me. I enjoy a good platformer, and there are much better ones out there. But if you are a fan of the story and looking for a very average and flawed platformer at a cheap price than go ahead ... Better than anticipated
I expected the disk to honestly have many scratches on it as any preowned PlayStation 2 game would. But this one has very little to no scratches which is appreciated. It also came with the manual which is always an amazing bonus with these old games.
