No more batteries.
I’ve had the original Magic devices with batteries. Both of my units started wearing out where the battery contacts are and would lose connection. They finally became useless, so I got the new version on eBay at 1/2 the price of new from Apple. The work the same except now I just charge them up for an hour and the go for month. The originals I had since 2013, and I know being rechargeable that these will need replaced in about 5 years not 9. I’ve had the original Magic devices with batteries.
