Misused inventions, interplanetary communication, and warped time peculiarities permeate the 1960s science fiction anthology program THE OUTER LIMITS. Created by Leslie Stevens, the program gained a rabid cult following and influenced a myriad of sci-fi that would follow, including a second OUTER LIMITS series in the 1990s. This collection from the original series comprises seasons one and two--the entire series, chock full of political allegory and prophetic visions. Episodes include "The Man With The Power" with Donald Pleasence as a college professor with deadly telekinetic powers; "The Human Factor" about a brain switch; "Tourist Attraction" with Ralph Meeker on a bizarre fishing trip; "Controlled Experiment" in which Barry Morse plays an alien sent to Earth to investigate a murder; the stunning pilot episode "The Galaxy Being;" and the rest of the series' 49 episodes.

The Outer Limits
This series was fantastic in 1963-1964 and it is great now! The 49 episodes included in the set plus the pilot are high quality technically and artistically. The MGM copies are clear and sharp on HDTV. This set was bought used in very good condition and I got a bargain all things considered. If you are into old time sci-fi, you can't beat "The Outer Limits" as a TV series.

Outer Limits is really quality material and entertaining, if you like Twighlight Zone you will love these two, mini sermons in every episode, we don't watch cable so these are great to add to our collection and keep them forever and watch again and again.

Original Outer Limits
I am so looking forward to getting this set...I was 11 in 1963 when this series began its short run and, for its time, it made a huge impression on my social conscious...we had emerged from the peaceful 50s and JFK had not been assassinated at that point...very prophetic material...loads to make you think about morality, ethics, scruples...lived a short life because it provoked when no adult wanted that post Great Depression, Post WW2...then along came the Smothers Brothers and Laugh In...comedy permitted that deeper look...buy this series...so worth it...I am so looking forward to getting this set...I was 11 in 1963 when this series began its short run and, for its time, it made a huge impression on my social conscious...we had emerged from the peaceful 50s and JFK had not been assassinated at that point...very prophetic material...loads to make you think about morality, ethics, scruples...lived a short life because it provoked when no adult wanted that post Great Depression, Post WW2...then along came the Smothers Brothers and Laugh In...comedy permitted that deeper look...buy this series...so worth it...

THE sci-fi classic. A must for sci-fi fans. A series that had great effects for it's day and for the most part they still hold up today. The series used the fear of the Soviet Union invading the U.S. as part of it's foundation for developing stories of being invaded by aliens from other galaxies and using different means of "infiltrating" our society. Very creative stories and a lot of talented actors and actresses who went on to have great successes in T.V. and films.THE sci-fi classic. A must for sci-fi fans. Nostalgic Trip.
The outer limits was super sci-fi in my youth. Watching then again is funny and fun. I recommend this for anyone who yearns for the simpler time in life.
