Very nice image
The dial to change from off and on, is too small. Very hard to move. The insruction manual is difficult to read the print is very small. They have combined instructions that make you refer back and forth to understand. I am surprised, and disapointed, Sony usually does a better job. Maybe they "farmed" out the manual, but the "Dial size" should have been better engineered.

Very pleased for intended purpose.
The product I received is in excellent condition and the seller was A+++. I bought the recorder for ghost hunting, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to take it into the field yet. However, it works wonderfully around the house with the illuminator I found on e-bay as well. I bought an extra battery for the field so can't fully attest to the battery life, which was a concern and why I bought the extra battery. I'd probably give this camera more 5's if I'd had the opportunity to field test it so please take this into consideration. I do love the fact that it is 'hard drive' cam corder rather than dv or dvr. I think this will be much easier to download evidence for review than the alternative. Very happy so far and think this is an excellent option for ghost hunting and, most ... I was looking for a nice small camcorder. This foot the bill. Approximately 5 hours of record time on the hard drive and the choice to use a memory stick is a plus. The optical zoom is really clear, not so good with the digital zoom (very pixilated). The infer-red is cool, but only works within about 10 feet. The still pictures are not as detailed as a camera, was disappointed. Didn't come with a separate battery charger. Overall very nice. great easy to use small h.d. camcorder
A great camcorder that can be bought at a great price ( got mineon ebay) new or used! Easy download to computer via usb cable. It's small and compact but still has 40x zoom. I also own the high def. (1080) version but this is still great quality digital video in it's highest setting.

The one I had the LCD screen went bad and I still had videos on it, so I needed an exact replacement so I knew where the on-screen prompts were, but also wanted an exact replacement because the Sony Handycam DCR-SR45 is an awesome camcorder especially with the hard drive storage. Cell phones have come a long way and capture pretty good video, but this camcorder still does a better job and has great quality without paying a lot of money.This was a replacement to the one that I had previously owned since 2009.
