Great quality and value but heavy to handle

At the price of ~$1000, this is a great lens. I upgraded from a Canon 75-300 mm kit lens to this for bird photography. The difference in image quality is staggering. Firstly, you can get extremely close to wildlife. I have been getting clear and sharp images thanks to the optical stabilization. I'm able to go down to 1/200th of a second at 600 mm without having to worry about blurriness. There is minimal fringing even at 600 mm. The autofocus is quick but it does struggle in low light. The biggest downside with this lens is it's weight. It is not easy to point and shoot for extended periods. Manual focus handheld is a rather difficult task. A monopod or tripod is a good accessory to have. The seller sent a piece that was as advertised. Minor nicks and scratches on the body but no damage ...

  • Sigma 15-600 sports lens

This is a fantastic lens, though heavy. It takes awesome pictures, sharp, focuses quick on my Canon 70d, and is built very well. It's a beast. I just love it

  • Cheaper than canon 400mm f5.6L

The images are can not beat the 400mm F5.6L but more range of zoom 150-600mm and cheaper. Focus is quick and quiet. The OS is good too.

  • Heavy, built like a tank but worth it!

While not as sharp as the Canon 600mm L series F4, it's still damn sharp and a heck of a lot less expensive. I knew that this would be heavy (and it is) so I would highly recommend a monopod if you are using it to walk around with or a gimble head mount on a tripod for maximum stability and for tracking. I've used this set up with the Canon lens for shooting surfers and wildlife and will do the same with this lens. It is not as fast as a prime, but in good light it shouldn't make a huge difference. All in all, It seems to be a great lens and as a zoom, it's a bit more flexible than a fixed 600 prime.

  • Big Value

Yes, the operative is Big... and Value. Yes this lens is bid, and I would guess that most would say it was a bit too heavy to hand hold, but I only gand hold this (all lenses) for wildlife and birds in flight. I find this lens adds to my Zen experience, while giving me a minor workout. My on reservation is that high ISOS are a reality in all but ideal conditions. You know that going in though, and the image quality, image stabilization, coupled with the value makes this an awesome choice for someone that wants results and isn't afraid to work for tem! I love this lens, and if you are a thinking photographer, you will too.
