    I've been an Oliva fan since 1965 when one of the first packs of baseball cards I ever opened contained a card with the 1964 Batting Leaders and there was Tony as the BA champ. So while I may be a bit biased, this was a very enjoyable book to read. The only criticism i have is Henninger's insistence in making his case for Oliva being in the Hall Of Fame. I'd like to see him enshrined (before he dies, preferably), but I don't think this book is going to change the voters minds. There is a chapter devoted to the argument for his induction, which is commendable, but throughout the rest of the book Henninger repeats all this. It interrupts the narrative of what is a very interesting and touching account of the hardships and joys of Oliva's life. To his credit, Henninger gives an ...
